My 2025 Thanksgiving

If you celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you had a wonderful time. Thanksgiving is "MY" holiday in my family. My brothers and their families all spend Christmas with their partner's side so it's the one time all year they gather here, filling the guest rooms I'm so happy my home has and it's like 4 days of non stop food related activity. 

If we're not picking food up somewhere, we're eating it. I turn the temp down in the walk in flower cooler and turn it into a fridge. Very handy though I realize very specific to me. 

I don't have a formal dining room, my kitchen/family room has some stools at an island and a small table for 3. My very large formal living room is usually left wide open, for vase deliveries, cartons of gift boxes and all my other projects that my studio, garage, basement can't contain. 

For Thanksgiving, I rent everything. It gives me a chance to change the look, play with linens, china and styles that I want to use but never had a client job that allowed for it. And pro tip: you don't have to WASH rental dishes, just a thorough scraping and stack them in the pickup crates!

This year, I went with wood tones, texture, neutrals and fruit. After my October wedding with still life moments styled among the flowers, I wanted to explore it further. I loved it all though the wishbone chairs would have been better at a 10ft table. They were a little cramped at the 8ft. 

And because I never make things easy on myself, I dreamed up a votive candle holder set in the few days leading up to the holiday and managed to print about 10 pieces of 4 styles. I 3D printed them in a semi translucent plant based filament and while the texture was rough because I was rushing, they have a lot of potential and I'm exploring them further.
