Envelope No. 1

This form was born from my love of short-stemmed flowers—especially hellebores. With their nodding heads and shy faces, hellebores often appear droopy, and most vases don’t do them justice. Envelope No.1 was created to lift them up, support their movement, and offer enough space for a real floral composition.

Unlike narrow vintage bottles or tiny cylinders, this piece features an undulating rim that accommodates varied stem heights and encourages dynamic arrangements. It envelops flowers gently, helping each bloom be seen from every angle.

Each vase is handmade in the USA using slip-cast porcelain, a process that merges precision with the nuance of the maker’s touch. Made from natural earth minerals, subtle freckles and variations may occur—these are marks of its handmade nature. Every piece is individually inspected, signed, and numbered by me, Sullivan.
